First minority executives tapped as community finance fellows

Real estate diversity program, Project REAP, has named the first fellows to take part in a new initiative to drive money and know-how into building new communities.

The pilot Open Access Fellowship Program in Community Development Finance will provide a pathway for black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) to work in a sector of real estate finance that can help build new communities and improve the health, education and access to wealth of economically disadvantaged populations.

OPEN ACCESS/REAP selects inaugural candidates for virtual fellowships in community development finance

On MLK Day, January 18th, 2021, the day that celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Open Access/REAP Program has announced the selection of 23 professionals for a pilot, all-virtual Open Access Fellowship Program in community development finance that will run through Friday, April 16th, 2021. The fellows were chosen from a wide pool of candidates spanning the nation from LA and Denver to Chicago, New Orleans, Newark, New York City and many other major cities.
